Doctors claim oxycodone exacerbates pain but nothing else helps

I was looking for a new local PCP. I went to him for a year and he new I was on Oxycodone. In the past he said he would take over my script from my other PCP out of town I had used for years.
When I finally decided to make a change to a local PCP I asked him to take over the script for Oxy he all of a sudden said NO!
Seems to be some new edict from the government or some entity to stop prescribing Oxy!
I have been on 3 a day for the last 6 years because of the headaches and fatigue I get from Lyme Disease!
I would not be alive because of the pain I suffered when I first came down with Lyme!

PS. on the same visit he also told me he had talked to a couple Infectious Disease doctors and said Lyme Disease does not exist! NEEDLESS TO SAY I'M STILL LOOKING FOR A LOCAL PCP! I FIRED HIM!!

I have been on oxy for 8 years for severe back pain from lumbar and cervical radiculopathy. I cannot take ibuprophen due to Stage 4 severe kidney disease.
I changed my PCP, who I really liked, to one closer to me. She knew my problems, but said she was not going to lose her license over prescribing oxy. I have never abused it and I am genetically resistant to addiction. But she didn't care. Needless to say, I went back to my original PCP.
