I get so tired of these doctors that discourage people from taking a narcotic like Oxycodone. Yes, there has been claims that taking this can increase your pain level. In my case, that is not true at all! After five back surgeries, including two fusions, Oxycodone is the only thing that helps dealing with the pain. I’m on the lowest dose and have been for four years. My question is, is she seeing a Pain Doctor? If not, I would encourage her to do so. They seem to be the only doctors that understand chronic pain and how debilitating it can be. Good luck to her, I hope she can find a doctor that understands chronic pain.

According my prescriber doctor, after prolong use and abrupt stopping, one may experience pain from the excited nerve ending.

She is not seeing a Pain doctor at this time although I will be bringing it up to her when I see her next because I completely agree that is who she needs to be seeing. Thanks!
