Is CA 19.9 at 40, a cause for concern?

At those levels of ca 19-9. you should be more concerned with the velocity of the increase or the decrease CA 19-9 is sensitive to other factors besides cancer in the digestive system. Something that you have eaten the day prior to the test could easily affect it. the trend is the most important thing I was at 50 for a number of years because I had stents in my pancreas,once the stents were removed. I’m now down to between 11 and 13. Please talk to your doctor as he can explain this.

Thank u so much for your comments. I’m having it checked out with the doc just to be sure and to see if there are other factors triggering this slight elevation in ca19.9
