Hi, I realize that I'm commenting almost 2 yrs after your post, but I just joined this group. I had my Reclast infusion 3 months ago and I have been suffering with jaw pain for about a month now. I have had panoramic x-rays done of my mouth & jaw and everything looks normal. But it certainly doesn't feel normal! Did your jaw pain eventually go away? How long did it take, if you don't mind me asking?

Following!

I read up and asked endocrinologist
Biphosphonates
Can cause a jaw condition
The reason in short is the jaw bones regenerate much faster than our other bones.
Biphosphonates block the bone clearing osteo clasts from working so just the bone building osteo blasts work The jaw really suffers and you can get osteonecrosis of the jaw with loose teeth etc. It's because these bones grow faster and no bone clearing action is occurring. Biphosphonates stay in the system for many years affecting the bone clearing process so to begin, the bone builds density but over time the bone quality can be brittle and old. I am not a medical anybody, and don't perceive to know much myself. This is only what I have researched and learnt so I have some in my drawer but afraid to take them. I don't want dental issues ahead. I'm doing weight exercises and good protein diet d3 and k2 and calcium to help myself. It might take longer but faster is not always the best answer.
