New to the group. Diagnosed in 2022 and on active surveillance (MRI and biopsy every 6 months) until my last biopsy in April. Went from Gleason 6 to 8. I’m 60 and my urologist shared that most men my age choose removal. He’ll do the robotic, nerve sparing procedure in August. Pretty much know what to expect as far as side effects ( thanks to this group!). Most nervous about recovery (catheter, incontinence, etc). We have a trip to Miami Beach scheduled 3 weeks following the surgery to just sit on the beach and recover. A little nervous about that trip.

Welcome!
Don’t worry too much about the catheter. In the grand scheme of things it’s not that big of a deal.
If you still need a catheter when you go to Miami, consider a valve so that you won’t need a leg bag. I’ve been using a valve for several months and it’s much more convenient. I use a brand called UGO manufactured in England.
Good luck!

P.S. There are a couple of caveats with a valve. Let me know or PM me if you want more information.
