I had Nissen fundiplication do to a hiatal hernia 3 years ago. I wish I had never had it done. I started having trouble within 5 days of having the procedure

I’ve been miserable ever since. I’ve got constant bloating, excessive gas, unable to burp. Eating smaller meals doesn’t do anything. You name it. Had dilation. No relief. Different medications. No relief. I felt better before the surgery by a long shot.

I’ll be discussing with my gastroenterologist about having the procedure reversed or some form of revision done.

I just had my appointment with a thoracic surgeon at Michigan Medicine. Based on a esophagram (barium swallow. 🤢) I had last week. He recommended I have a EGD and dilation for a look see. Before even considering anything more invasive.
