@darleneporter: Hi! I can relate to the pain you are experiencing since wrist bone fusion. My right wrist surgery had ulnar bone cut apart with 2” removed, then S/S screw inserted at wrist - that remains. Many years have past but I do recall excurciating pain from elbow to shoulder and learned it was from the tournequet technique at shoulder used during surgery - seems like it lasted a couple weeks. The swelling and pain in wrist was helped by ice packs and elevation AND immobility. I tried to go back to work and it resulted in lots of discomfort, more swelling and only minimal use of my hand. I don’t feel physical therapy was much help- but it did feel good to be pampered. Also please be aware of the drugs they are prescribing- I believe the excess of drugs I was urged to take led to my liver damage and now cancer diagnosis. 🙁
I wish I could offer you a magic solution, but at least for my situation it was a long slow process. I have learned ways to accomplish adequate movement, but still have limited motion and somethings I just can’t do! I am grateful I am doing as well as I am! Best of health yo you..,
