Thanks for this explanation and advising patience. At 80, I just began Cabergoline 3 weeks ago and have yet to see any improvement. The prescribing physician did not provide any time frame for the benefits to commence, just advising that I check back in. Probably, at that time, he might recommend further patience or a change in dosage or moving on to the next line of treatment.
I'm also new to Trimix - six weeks - and still tweaking the dosage but I don't think it is a factor since the orgasmic and ED problems commenced about 3 years ago, not long before my diagnosis of early Parkinson's disease.

According to the few research studies on Cabergoline, it doesn’t help everyone (maybe 2/3 at best) and amongst the people who report a benefit, the amount of time to benefit can vary widely, up to 10 months or so. It’s hard to know what’s really happening with this drug, but you can increase the dose; my urologist suggested I bump it up from 1 pill to 1 1/2. So far, about 3 months in, I can’t say clearly that I’ve benefited. One thing that seems to help though, and all of us know it, is abstinence, which somehow enhances the anticipation and sensitizes whatever brain circuitry involved. And don’t try to hard or expect that you will quickly regain your youth in this regard (I’m grateful to have a life at 78 and be pretty fit and healthy (excepting my untreated prostate cancer) and active. My libido is still there, just not the physiology the other neurobiology components of my younger days. In this regard I’ve learned that getting an erection good enough for penetration is controlled separately from keeping the erection. But that’s a subject for another day.
