My ADT meds were changed. I am having constipation issues and would like to know how others deal with this problem. Thanks

So, that's why I've had problems, huh? I'm taking 1200 mg of calcium supplement daily for bone health related to ADT. Thanks.

I follow a Whole food plant based diet. I #NEVER# have an issue with constipation.

I'm glad you asked this question, as it seems like my BMs are very different from pre-surgery. I have assumed it is because I am drinking less fluids to deal with my incontinence, but I will try some of these things others suggested too.

I use a probiotic recommended by an ER nurse when I was dehydrated by diarrhea. I’d ask a nurse or a nutritionist for a good one. I also take one or two stool softeners daily and I eat one package of Metamucil crackers with breakfast. It’s been working for me so far for constipation. And I drink plenty of water. If I go a couple of days without a BM I use a script I have for Lactulose with everything else.

I struggled with constipation and hiccups for a year after chemo
My doctor finally said to me you have to drink at least 15 oz of water every morning before any other intake and a bit of high Fiber cereal then wait 1/2 hour before anything else to eat during the 1/2 hour exercise such as walking
It took a couple of weeks be for it seemed any better, then it worked all the time
My doctor says it is dehydration nothing else
She was right and I am very thankful

My personal opinion is that the placement/ insertion of the robotic arms affects us all differently.
My Gastro had done 4 colonoscopies prior to surgery. After complaining about inability to have normal BM’s he did another; he said my intestine now seemed “very tortuous”… in other words, extra loops or twists - that has to affect something I would imagine.
Who knows how all the fascia heals after it’s over?
