I HAD A MRI TO FIND OUT THAT I HAVE 2 LABRUM TEARS IN MY HIPS. THE RIGHT ONE MORE SO. SINCE I ALSO HAVE OSTEOPOROSIS, SPINAL STENOSIS. CRPS. I ALSO HAVE NARCOLEPSY AND CATAPLEXY . THE TRICYCLIC MEDICATION I TAKE FOR IT MAKES PLASMA RICH PLATELET CONTRAINDICATED. I AM NOT A CANDIDATE FOR ANY TYPE OF SURGERY. HOWEVER MY PAIN DOCTOR TRIED AN INJECTION IN THE HIP OF DEXTROSE AND WATER, WHICH IS PROLOTHERAPY. WHILE ITS NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE, HE WAS KIND ENOUGH TO TRY IT ON ME. AFTER JUST 1 SHOT I NOW HAVE AT LEAT 50% RELIEF WHERE STEROIDS DID NOTHING. I HOPE EVERYONE A PAIN FREE DAY.

Haven't heard of it before. However, it sounds promising when I google it. I'm guessing it doesn't come up as an option very often since it is not covered by insurance and not FDA approved.

That is fantastic it helped! Yes, along the lines of PRP, it is not covered by insurance. My massage therapist had it done and it helped her a lot. PRP works for me and many others, why insurance insists it’s not a reliable form of treatment is beyond me. Same with prolotherapy.
