HI
was taking Eliquis for afib for 3 mos ..I had cardio version and afib stopped I have had severe knee pain while taking Eliquis...I am now off of Eliquis for 1 week and have seen articles on medical sites that it can take weeks or months for joint pain to subside. How long did it take for your joint pain to subside once you stopped taking this drug? Thanks

Hi
I take PRADAXA 110 twice day. Still do.
My Knee & Hip pain I do take care more. Like no steppimg down on it or hanging it off the bed.

I also most nights elevate my legs.

Joint and leg pain are so inhibitatimg.

I see my Orthopaedic Surgeon on Tuesday. My knee was given a bad twist and weight on it followed in 2022. I was told by Orthopaedic then that I only had small tears. Three years later still in pain I returned. The tears were still there. He was able to go in and look under our ACC policy. The old big tear was so bad he had to cut the menuscus.

In a PET scan last year it showed inflammation of the left hamstring so he sent me off for an Xray. It showed oesteo and arthritis.

Sometimes history pops its head caused by meds to give you ongoing pain. I sympathise. He may talk to me about a knee replacement. Yes, to my elbow operation which shows small tears.

Is Eliquis twice a day? Better than once a day. Your side effect is unacceptable but you do need to keep up an anti-co-agulant. Stroke risk and my thyroid camcer caused AF and AF caused the embolic stroke.

I hope that stopping the Eliquis stops the pain. Be positive though. I pray and think positive meanwhile. I believe in the positive power of healing.

OOps

Forgot to say that stretches for my right shoulder were not the right treatment.

Not always 'right'. At operation they found an almost full tear, a 1/2" spur growing, and musle down my arm semi detached. Not a good platform for stretches to help. I'd say careful short walks in very soft footwear and spongy.
