changes in penis appearance

has anyone experienced a lot of thick fleshy penis shaft skin, a wide shaft, and the skin covering the glans, hanging down making it so difficult to stand and urinate ?

In answer to the popular song gleefully sung by adolescent boys, I offer the following:

No, my balls do not hang low
They do not wobble to and fro
I cannot tie them in a knot, nor can I tie them in a bow
I cannot throw them over my shoulder as if I were a regimented soldier
In short, my balls do not hang low

I think this was one of the Dr. Seuss books my local school board banned from the school library. 😃

I'm waiting for Hans to give us a "The Cat in the Hat on Lupron" poem. How 'bout it, Hans?

The Cat in the Hat on Lupron (with some help from ChatGPT Pro)

I once had a gland, it was lively and spry,
‘Til the doc came along with a wink in his eye.
“It’s cancer,” he said, “but we’ve got a great plan —
We’ll knock out your hormones as fast as we can!”

He gave me a shot — Lupron was its name.
At first, I felt fine, but it soon changed the game.
Then who should arrive in my brain like a goon?
Why, the Cat in the Hat — with a hot flash balloon!

He danced on my nerves and he flailed with great flair,
“I’ve stolen your sex drive! You won’t even care!”
He juggled my muscles, he juggled my mood,
He took all my cravings and messed with my food.

“My bones are now thinning!” I started to yell.
Said the Cat, “Welcome, friend, to my hormone-free hell!”

“I’ll give you night sweats and emotional swings!
I’ll take your erections and give you… sad things!
Your patience is gone, your joints are all sore —
And wait till you cry at the grocery store.”

According to my urologist, who has performed thousands of RP, this is not true. The urethra is cut at the base of the bladder where it enters the prostate gland and below the prostate where it exits. The bladder is mobile and "drops" to reconnect the urethra. The penile urethra is fairly immobile and is not pulled up to reconnect.

Men do report loss of length following surgery but for many men this is temporary. Some believe penile shrinkage with RP and ADT is secondary to loss of nocturnal (and otherwise) erections which results in atrophy of the cavernosa penile tissue (smooth muscle). Reports indicate this atrophy can be ameliorated by using oral daily meds (Cialis), penile pump and/or Trimix injections to stretch the penile tissue.

Yes, I also read that it does not happen for above mentioned reason.

There is so little talk about penile rehabilitation importance regardless of ED issues. Many patients are concerned about erections solely as a possible problem for having sex but it seems that erections have very important physiological function and keep penile tissue healthy with good blood circulation, nice vessel endothelial lining and good and supple "spongy" tissue. It is said that if erections do not happen tissue deteriorates and length of urethra can shorten. There was recently video posted here on this forum by "Retiredguy" and I would strongly advise for all members to watch it !

It is so strange that prostate specialists do not talk about that nor inform their patients about all of the things that they can do to help with atrophy after treatments or about possible changes that can happen and that it is normal to happen IF "rehabilitation" is not initiated, but that they have a choice.

It is important to start with treatments immediately, even if you are fully incontinent in the first months after surgery and you think that you might be bothered with shortening or "girth" of the penis. Otherwise, it is not a big deal. There are many man that do not have prostate problems or procedures and have complete ED and live normal lives with above mentioned changes.

Having the same problem.Along with the incontinence its not fun.Something they never warned about.

Did you have radiation treatment or prostatectomy ? If you had RP it sometimes takes up to a year and more for things to start getting better.

Right after my RARP my penis shrunk and my scrotum swelled to about 3-4 times. After the cath came out my scrotum quickly returned to normal and my penis has returned to almost normal size. But I have some extra skin now and like almost everyone that has posted I look uncut. For me it's not a big deal. I have noticed that this changes throughout the day.

It is very clever BUT so true and it just SUCKS because the reality of it all is really depressing. Just my mood today and hopefully not much longer.
