I am seeing Dr. Sarath Nath next week. He specializes in infectious diseases. Hoping to find out what is causing my UTI’s. I have now gone over a month without a UTI since the last round of antibiotics. Hoping they don’t come back, but my urine is not clear like it should be. My incontinence is almost gone. No night leakage at all. Mainly leak when I do my pelvic floor exercises and complete my morning 3 mile walk.

I finally got in to see my urologist who performed the HoLEP surgery on me back in January. As I posted I've had three UTI's since then and have been prescribed different antibiotics by my primary care. Unfortunately, my urologist did another scope on my visit (ouch) and determined that my UTI's are probably caused by one of two things; 1) I have some scar tissue at the bladder neck that needs to be removed (by laser) and not allowing me to empty my bladder completely. 2) there may be some leftover tissue in the bladder (from the HoLEP procedure) that may be attracting bacteria like a magnet. So even if the antibiotics kill it off it would still be there and attract more. So I'm scheduled for my surgery on July 18th and will have a catheter in for three days afterwards. She also put on Levofloxacin 750 mg for 14 days (a different antibiotic). I may not have explained everything in physician terms but I hope this helps. I'll update this post after my surgery.
