I had divercultist ,I am 68. My co!on opened up after some of the affect colon wall weakened and exploded. Almost died.! Had emergency surgery the same day. Doctor cut 6 inches of my colon where the divercultist was present &sewed up my colon.No more divercultist.

Did you have any side affects from the surgery for the diverticulitis? I've heard that the surgery usually causes the rest of the intestinal tract to be weaker.
