I tried pregabalin But I couldn’t go up as high as the true clinical dose without running into intolerable side effects. S draso in add passive resition to Neurontin and medical marijuana, I use extended release morphine 15 mg three times a day, along with immediate release morphine 15 mg tid, and baclofen (10 mg hs, and 5 mg qid), along w acetominephin 1000 mg. The baclofen is a muscle relaxant that also works on nerves.

Wow! Did you get any swelling of the feet and legs when using Gabapentin alone?

REPLY

Yes it does for me and is one of the side effects. I have also experienced a lot of hair loss and weight gain.

Have any of you fellas experienced loss of libido or any degree of ED well using Gabapentin. If so, what dosages are you taking?

I take gabapentin 200 mg daily before bedtime, now I'm thinking of dropping the gabapentin since it may contribute to swelling in my left leg, a problem that has been that way for many months now, moreso after I got arthroscopic surgery for meniscus repair left knee in April 2025. But I'm 77 years old now and ED is a real problem for me, as well as primarily total loss of libido and of course along with the major ED. I never connected gabapentin use to ED however. Maybe it is coincidental for you, but you need to consider viagra and/or cialis and see if there is help there. You may be of the age that ED is becoming more commonplace.

I had a complete pelvic reconstruction surgery last year. A day or two after I ended up in the ER because my legs had blown up to the point that they hurt. After many tests, the only thing they could come up with was a side effect from the gabapentin I was taking, I immediately stopped taking it and my legs were normal in two days.

One of the most common side effects of gabapentin, and yes, it happened to me. It was so severe that it’s now listed as a medication I’m allergic to. Once off it, it only took a couple of days to resolve back to normal.

Me too. Stopped taking because of the swelling tremors and weight gain. Was on 2800 and they wanted to up it. I ended up changing doctors because he was a pill pusher. Wanted to put me on a drug Mayo said I should not take along with several other drugs.

YES! Gabapentin caused a nightmare reaction on me. It started as a small pimple than underneath that pimple my arm swelled like a baseball. I did not realize it was the medicine at first so I kept taking then my left leg knee swelled like a grapefruit. It was very painful.

I was prescribed Gabapentin a while ago. My arms and legs swelled up and I felt awful. I now list this as a medication to which I am allergic.
