Can a tens unit make my neuropathy symptoms worse?

I have peripheral idiopathic neuropathy in both legs from knees down. Mostly numbness and occasional cramping. Using a tens unit ( under the care of a chiropractor) for about a month. Now I wake-up with both legs feeling hot. Is that a good sign? Otherwise there is no change in symptoms.

BTW, soooo glad you're doing better. Wish i could say the same. ☹️

My neuropathy of unknown origin (may be called idiopathic) is now from knees down. I am getting TENS treatment at physical therapy and am hoping that it will not spread anymore. I am downright frightened and knowing that there are others out there in my same boat offers a bit of solace. I did some extra exercises here at home in the effort to build muscles. Did I overdo it? Is it important to walk a line in terms of how hard to push oneself? My PCP is not very helpful--he also seems to be lacking in bedside manner. In July I will see my neurologist.

A tens unit made my feet feel worse. Maybe it works for some, but i think.......so much stuff out there, its hard to tell what is right and wrong....but, i think...tens is for more like different body aches and pains, i don't think it is for neuropathy, just not sure. but, I am using an ultrasound wand, was doing every 3 days, but i am cutting down to 2x week, as some info says not to use it more than that. I....think.....ultrasound is ...supposed to sort of rebuild the nerves??? I've read sooo much, i'm starting to forget who said what. So, from my own use, i do think the ultrasound is a lower frequency.....maybe read some articles on that, and see if that might help at least a little.......units run aprx $50 = $150. so far, i use it on both bottom of feet, and i started to use around ankles. altho, i think......using in on bottom of foot, that it sort of shoots uo thru the legs...........ask google those questions, you might have to re word your questions a few times, to get the most answers........One thing, you need a gel, which they will tell you about, and if the light keeps flashing once you are using it, it usually means either......you need mor gel for a connection..........or you need to position the head of the wand better, for a proper connection. it is easy to use.......ask website ......how do you use an ultrasound wand on the bottom on the foot?.......or maybe ...how do you Place the wand, etc. As i noted, google is very fussy about wording,. Maybe, you can ask is there a video that shows how to use an ultrasound wand for placement on your foot.........
