Yes, I also read that it does not happen for above mentioned reason.
There is so little talk about penile rehabilitation importance regardless of ED issues. Many patients are concerned about erections solely as a possible problem for having sex but it seems that erections have very important physiological function and keep penile tissue healthy with good blood circulation, nice vessel endothelial lining and good and supple "spongy" tissue. It is said that if erections do not happen tissue deteriorates and length of urethra can shorten. There was recently video posted here on this forum by "Retiredguy" and I would strongly advise for all members to watch it !
It is so strange that prostate specialists do not talk about that nor inform their patients about all of the things that they can do to help with atrophy after treatments or about possible changes that can happen and that it is normal to happen IF "rehabilitation" is not initiated, but that they have a choice.
It is important to start with treatments immediately, even if you are fully incontinent in the first months after surgery and you think that you might be bothered with shortening or "girth" of the penis. Otherwise, it is not a big deal. There are many man that do not have prostate problems or procedures and have complete ED and live normal lives with above mentioned changes.
