When I was taking Forteo, a long time ago, there was talk of jaw necrosis being a possible side effect of these types of drugs. Also, when I was at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC I sat for an hour and a half presentation on Forteo. A sample of what a bone would look like before and after taking Forteo for two years was very convincing as one bone looked like swiss cheese and the Forteo bone looked normal. At no time during the presentation was any mention made of Forteo not working 100%. If I had been told that I would have had to go back on bisphosphonates after two years I never would have started the Forteo because I started the Forteo with the hopes of getting off the bisphosphonates. I am going to be 77 years old and I have had other serious health concerns. I consider myself extremely lucky to be alive at all. Breaking a bone has become something that I do not give much thought to these days as I have bigger fish to fry.

thank you for the info. Where are you now? Do you regret taking the Forteo? Was that part of the cause for other serious medical issues your dealing with?
