Pain after healed fractures
I have had four fractures since Jan. Had two fractions in Jan that healed. Last two in Feb had kyphoplasty which didn’t help much followed by teo SI joint injections which didn’t help much either. This was all three and two months ago. Now they say it’s back muscle weakness and changes to my spine and of course arthritis. Was wanting to know if any have had this issue and with pt does it eventually go away? Having these procedures plus having infection stopped my pt but starting up again next week. I’m
so concerned for it has been depressing not able to live like I was accustomed. I canceled a year long planned trip for didn’t think I could withstand the plane rides or be myself being in pain. Any suggestions or encouragement will be greatly appreciated.

I've been lucky not to have fractures. I've had Osteoporosis for 10 yrs and numerous falls. At 76 i don't think it would be a good experience. So I really feel for you. But I believe pt helps because it strengthens yours muscles which we all need.
@stress101 I did have a fracture in my lower back (sacrum) due to osteoporosis. I don’t if the fracture happened from a fall or if it just happened spontaneously. I didn’t know I had the fracture until I had a CT for my cancer follow-up appointments and the radiologist commented on the sacral fracture. That fracture affected my gait and walking for quite some time.
I encourage you to continue with the PT. If your PT sends you home with exercises to do at home it’s important to do those also. I’ve been to PT too many times to count. Sometimes it’s been helpful. I have appreciated the effort my PT has put into listening to me and helping figure out the best exercises for me to do to regain strength.
How often do you go to PT? Do you do the home exercises?
Thanks for the reply. I have gone in between fractures and think the last two I had was by too strenous PT. So, Dr stopped me going for couple of weeks except I did walk a lot. Then was to have aqua therapy but developed an infection. Now that is clear, I will begin regular PT with a therapist I trust. I did like the aqua therapy for it does makes your muscles work harder without stress on the spine but after having the infection, I am leary of going back. I know my back wasn't as strong as it could be when all this happened but I just thought with the kyphoplasty, etc, I would get great relief like many have said. So, with the pain, trying to tolerate Tymlos is certainly an uphill battle.
