Is my statin causing peripheral neuropathy?

My cardiologist had put me on rovastatin 40 mg. Over a couple of years I'd say I found I had kidney damage. They found protein and blood in my urine with no explanation. Long story short my wonderful internal medicine doctor asked me to stop taking rovastatin 40 mg. To my surprise within 2 days I noticed there was no more foam in my urine and it was shocking. She also wanted to help all the muscle spasms and muscle strain in my whole back however stopping taking rovastatin didn't help that to my dismay. So my kidney doctor wanted to add my information to the I don't know what it is the medicine journal because I was found to be a rare case where a statin impacted my kidneys that drastically. Of course my cardiologist is not happy about this either because rovastatin 40 mg is a very high dose and given for good reason. Statins are known not to be good for you. So if you can help your diet and do everything in your power to avoid them is best option.

@buttercup55 I also take a the statin Atorvastatin. We take it to help with our cholesterol levels. All drugs have side effects and of course not everyone gets them. They statin drugs can also affect your liver enzymes. It sometimes is not a win win situation is it? @rnlorena
