Hi yes, left upper lobe. I did see the surgeon and got a lot of answers. I have to remind myself that even though thhe outside incision is healed there is a lot more inside to heal.

@mamalinda61, congratulations on your surgery! That's an important first step, and I also agree with others who say it takes a while for the body to recover.

I'm 7 years out from my lobectomy, but I've recently had the experience you describe. I was also mildly nauseous, and I was losing weight because I just couldn't eat much. I was diagnosed with gastroparesis, which is a fancy term for the stomach muscles not moving things along like they should. My gastroenterologist believes the primary cause is pain killers, particularly opiods. If your surgeon, like mine, gave you a presecription for a short-term (1 month in my case) opiod, that might be temporarily causing this condition.

You could be back to your old self in the next couple/few weeks. Walking outside every day helped me recover. All the best to you in your cancer journey!

Good morning! I also had LUL, and yes, experienced the same thing. Even after drinking a bottle of water. It does go away eventually, so I just ate much smaller portions, fruit for snacks in between and still lots of water and juice and coffee. Helps keep things moving a long as I would say. My surgeon told me that the stomach and diaphragm shift up to fill the space the lungs used to fill and thats why everything fills different. I will still get that uncomfortable feeling when I over indulge. Praying for your complete recovery!
