I've been taking Allopurinol to prevent gout from coming back for a few years, and no more flare ups thankfully. Gout is one of the most painful conditions I've ever had to endure.

me too. The flares were the WORST pain ever. Fortunately I have not had for 20 years. But the rest of the time the gout only surfaces when I exert myself. Now it is well controlled with the Allopurinol. Its a disease. So once we have it, it stays and we always have to be careful and manage it!
