Liner of Hip Replacement
Saw Dr. O'driscoll in 2020 said my liner needs replacement. At that time I had other things to worry and no pain. Now my hip is hurting and scary - am I going to dislocate it? How do I know if I'm "ready" for that surgery? anyone here had it done good/bad how did you know you were ready? thanks for your time

Can you explain what is going on that leads you to seek another opinion? According to your profile, the surgery was quite recent - are you unhappy with your progress?
Hi Sue
Just a little uncertainty plus my surgeon brought up the idea and said he was not concerned with getting a second opinion. I've raised the idea of CT and xray of lumbosacral and hip areas, to evaluate if and how revision needs to be done. I anticipate either 3 months being careful and reevaluate, or maybe revision in the summer. 8 days after dislocation I am pain free but don't reach closer than a foot from the floor. Haven't considered putting socks on yet. We didn't take xray or CT of lumbosacral areas beforehand, which puzzled me a year ago.
