Hello everyone, please I think I have similar issue but I'm an adult.
I have severe muscle spasm on the left side of my neck and it hurts so bad
I went to the hospital, my urine and blood was taken for series of test. Everything was fine except my ESR being 30. I did scan on my breast cause I also have a small almost invisible swole on the right side of my breast like that of a mosquito bite, and it's sometime slightly painful so I ran a scan and nothing was found.
I had x-ray on my neck and it showed severe muscle spasm.
I was given co-codamol, the pain stopped for some time and came back.
I only feel relaxed when I press with hot water or I massage.
And it's been over 2months, the pain hasn't stopped. It's still on the left side of my neck and slightly swollen. Please what can I do?

Did you get an ultrasound or MRI of your neck/cervical spine? If you had X-ray, it shows bones but not soft tissues.

It would be good to have your thyroid, lymph nodes and cervical spine checked.

The slight swelling is worrisome. Any fever at all?

Everything else sounds like a cervical spine issue. They need to do an MRI of your cervical spine as this will show pinched or irritated nerves, or any lymph node issues I believe.

Anytime you have difficulty swallowing, pain in the neck and shoulders my thought process goes to either cervical spine issue OR throat infection/esophageal cancer. Not to alarm you.

How old are you?
