I was diagnosed with histamine intolerance in February of 2021. I tried famotidine which I couldn't take due to side effects. I also tried Allegra every 12 hours instead of 24 hours. Both were suggested by my allergist. I couldn't take either. I tried a strict low histamine diet but became nutrient deficient. It is difficult to stay away from foods with histamine as all foods contain histamine to a more or less degree. I understand the effect is cumulative so if you eat low histamine foods all day by the time dinner comes whatever you eat causes your body to have too much histamine.

I began using DAO recently before dinner and find that it helps greatly.

i'm also dealing with food sensitivities to almost every food since getting covid in dec. 2020. i read everything i can about this horrible virus and most healthy foods are histamine releasers...but i'm not giving up some foods because i want some joy in my life. i take many supplements and antihistamines. yes, i've read up on d a o but i'd like to know what foods you're now allergic to and what benefit d a o has been since you've started taking it...and when you take it. thx
