I was just diagnosed with osteoporosis and don't want to take the fosamax or envenity recommended. Considering Native Path Bone Health collogen. Does anyone use this?

I started taking both the regular Native Path Collagen and the Bone Collagen last August after I was diagnosed with osteoporosis due to four years of steroid use due to Polymyalgia Rheumatica. I am now off steroids and am not taking any osteoporosis meds. I don't know if the collagen has helped or not as I haven't had a bone density scan since I started taking it. I take both daily and haven't had any problems with it.

I take Native Path Collagen. I have been on inhaled steroids by mouth and by nose, twice a day, for 35+ years. Although my allergist claims they don’t contribute to osteoporosis, the literature begs to differ. I am going to try to reduce use by going on Singulair (Montelukast), but that is its own can of worms. Has anyone else dealt with this, I wonder, or have I wandered into a different forum.

I have been on Native Path just the regular collagen for 3 years 2 scoops every morning. I recently had a Dexa scan and it was horrible.
I’m on this site to gather as much information as I can from all of you. I have a lot of health issues and don’t want to go through those horrible injections my Doctor is advising.
I’m reading so much interesting things that I’m going to try to see if I can reverse my bone issue a more natural way. Thanks to all of you for your advice as it has helped so much!

I've been using it for 2 months and am happily surprised at the difference it has made. It has almost eliminated my joint pain and aching. Dissolves well and is tasteless. I am also taking vitamins and minerals to supplement: D3, B-complex, Oyster Calcium, K-2, a low dose of Ferrous Sulfate (Iron) and Magnesium Glycinate.

I have used it for sometime.
It definitely helps nail and hair strength but hard to judge exact benefit for bone health.
However,I have read several generic articles on the benefits of collegen.

It is not inexpensive but is rated among the best

For a few years, I've been taking Multi-Collagen Protein powder by Horbaach that has types 1, II, III, V and X. I also take New Chapter Bone Strength calcium supplements that have K1, and K2. I started these products six years ago when I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and my DEXA scans have remained stable over that time. I'm due for my next DEXA later this month.

@charlieo6246 My next DEXA scan was not good. My scores had gotten worse and after more tests I found I had parathyroid issues which was a cause. I had unsuccessful surgery, they couldn't find the bad parathyroid gland. Since then I went to the Mayo in Rochester and had several CT scans where they found the bad gland but since I've had two neck surgeries, they don't want to do surgery again. They are monitoring me for possible ablation next year. The Dr wanted me to take Fosamax, but I declined due to side effects and I've read the fracture prevention benefits are low.

I am no longer taking Horbaach, but a different collagen with Fortibone, which is supposed to be the best for bones. I'm still taking New Chapter calcium but now alternate it with Citracal Petites which is calcium citrate. I also take 300 mg of magnesium glycinate a day.
