pain in upper right abdomen 6 weeks after gallbladder removed
So I had my gallbladder removed 6 weeks ago because I had chronic gallstones with a past infection the surgery had some complications where one of my cystic ducts was cut and needing to be repaired I was recovering fine until about a week ago when I started getting sharp stabbing pain in my upper right abdomen and bad diarrhoea everytime I eat Im still on the gallbladder low fat no dairy diet, I've tried seeing my doctor but no appointments available for a month does anyone have any idea if this could be something serious?

You may want to go to the emergency room if you continue to have pain and can’t get into your doctor for a month. You want to make sure there is no infection or complications post surgery.
I had a similar experience. It turned out to be stones in the bile and pancreatic ducts that were missed. They removed them through an endoscopy. You may need the ear in case of infection. I think it’s appalling you can’t speak to your surgical team.Hope you feel better soon.
Hard to believe that they didn't give him some priority, esp. if it's possible that they were the cause of the issue.
The same thing happened to me and was my first thought when I read this post.
Thank you so do i. I was discharged from my surgical team 5 days after my surgery when they removed my drain and ive not been able to get hold of them since but then thats the NHS for you! think I may have to take a trip the the walk in centre see if they on call doctors can help
My husband is 7 weeks post op and he is still struggling with right upper quadrant pain as well as very distended and swollen and he has had more scans, blood work and tests done and they can't figure it out. He's in more pain now than he ever was before the gallbladder was removed. It makes me wonder what they aren't doing or seeing? It concerns me about our health care. We have had to reach out to a whole different group of docs that are finally willing to do something different to try and help him. I pray they didn't wait to long and have it be something more serious. We shouldn't have to keep pushing docs to run different tests to figure things out.
Im sorry to hear that I hope your husband gets answers and feels better soon
That is terrible. Yes you should get help from somewhere. And keep good notes.
