@stuartkjones4 1. It is Patterson, Dr. Bruce Patterson. 2. and 3. You should ask Mayo what their success rate is curing Long COVID, ask them what do they test for, ask them what their treatment regimen is, make them explain why you should give them a try. It may well have changed (it likely has) since September 2023. If you come away from those conversations loaded with good information, then you have a choice. I as have many many others spent countless hours since contracting LC reading, watching, listening on the topic of LC. I figuratively speaking, went through every Doctor in Charleston, SC 2 major medical groups. As I was undergoing a myriad of tests (all returning 'normal' results of course) I asked multiple medical professionals "is there anyone focused on Long COVID?". Their answer was no. I found professionals trying to help, and I am grateful for their help, but nobody really knew what to do.
Following local medical community and Mayo Rochester and years of continuing to have symptoms I turned to what I affectionately call Dr. Google and Dr. YouTube. Warning, there are plenty of snake oil salesman out there. But I did find tons of worthy YouTube videos demonstrating there are caring individuals in the world with working theories on cures. There were 2 that drew my attention, because they talked root cause, and I am a root cause person. One was triple therapy (blood thinning approach) and the other was vascular inflammation (Dr. Bruce Patterson's approach). There are others, but these are the 2 that talked a root cause to LC symptoms. What I like to call 'the murder weapon', there is something that is causing our symptoms at the bottom of it all. Dr. Bruce Patterson's working theory made the most sense to me especially because since the beginning of COVID, scenes knew it was an inflammatory action causing problems. I hope my answer helps and best wishes on your choice and your journey. Don't ever give up . . .
my LC Dr. is using an anti-histamine first line approach. it has been very helpful, but it is not a cure.
once covid makes a home in your body, getting it to move out doesn’t seems to be possible at this point. i am still hopeful. there are a lot of smart people trying to figure it out.
so, when there is one method instead of hundreds, we will finally be there.
