panorman3, I think I mentioned it on your "best procedure" thread. Specifically I had a small bowel resection two years ago due to NETs. Before that surgery, I had many surgeons say it was inoperable.
How much was removed did they reconnect, did you wear a colostomy bag

hi I am from Far North Queensland Australia 3 years ago I found out I had nets in small bowel ileum area. One surgeon said I cannot do anything for me, then comes another general surgeon and said I want to go in and take what I can out but no guarantee I can get it all. March 2022 had 1.5m ileum taking out and 10 lymph nodes. (16 nets and out of 10 lymph nodes 6 were positive). I now have liver lesions which they are monitoring. My advice would be if you are not happy with what one dr or whoever tells you seek another opinion. Good luck. and for now no more in bowel.
"How much was removed did they reconnect, did you wear a colostomy bag?" They removed approximately 2 feet of small intestine. I did not wear a bag, but I was on TPN for a month after surgery to allow a leak to heal. So I got my nutrition from an IV during that time. Its weird to live without eating food. I was able to get the TPN overnight and that took 12 hours. So I wasn't hooked up to a transfusion pump during the day. I tried to work during the day while getting the TPN at night but it was very difficult for me.
