That is a huge drop too quickly! At a recent endocrinology follow up my provider said and gestured with her hand that “it is like landing an airplane”.
“You do not want to go straight down; you want a gradual descent for a safe and smooth landing; NOT a crash!”
Your title says “…..insulin Spare ot”. Your post says “…..Insulin Asparte…..”. (Also “fast dimps”.) I suspect there is a weird auto correct thing going on. It is trying to happen to me right now as I type (Grrrrr).
I use Insulin Aspart (aka NovoLog) in an insulin pump. It has settings per my endocrinologist’s recommendations. I realize that everyone is different and require different amounts of insulin per day, BUT I average about 42 units per day. You are getting 50 - 90 units per day. That seems like a lot!
My daughter recently started an insulin pump using Insulin Aspart. I spent a day with her. She was around 400 at 10am and came down to around 100 in the evening at dinner time. This is the best kind of drop.
Please, please, please follow up with your provider to make sure the dosing and timing of the dose is right for you. Have you reported these huge, fast drops to your provider?
Are you type 1 or 2? Are you also taking a long acting insulin?
Often fast acting insulin doses are based on the amount of carbs you eat. The slow acting is a set number. Are you counting carbs?
I’d check with your doctor about the formula you are using and in the meantime monitor your blood sugar often. I’d be very cautious about taking large doses at night without sufficient carbs. I might set an alarm and get up and do a finger stick to ensure you aren’t too low, until you can speak with your doctor or diabetes educator.
