@sbryant

I had a radical Hysterectomy on Monday May 19th. The surgery went well. I came home the same day. Tylenol and Advil kept the pain away. They did send me home with 5 mg of OxyContin I split the pill in half and took half for the ride home. And the other half to sleep later that evening. Over all I feel way better than I anticipated. I don’t really feel any internal pain. My incisions are sore especially the one near my rib on the right side. I had laparoscopic robotic surgery.. my pathology results have already come back and I’m relieved to say there is no cancer found anywhere other than my uterus which showed only pre-cancerous cells left after my hysteroscopy and DSC. I have relied on this site for information and am beyond thankful and blessed for everyone on here. Sharing your story and words of encouragement has helped me in so many ways. I hope that I can help others along the way. Bless you all!

@sbryant Bravo!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful news. Your surgery sounds very much like my own. In a way, I was surprised that this surgery, which seems very complex to me, could be performed the same day. Like you I had laparoscopic robotic surgery and came home with 5 small incisions. My surgeon told me that even though my outside abdomen had just a few bandaids that my "inside" abdomen still had a lot of healing to do. I hope you find your surgical recovery as easy as I did.

I'm so heartened that our encouragement and sharing our own stories was helpful to you. I hope too that you will return and help and support others.

Do you have a follow-up scheduled yet?
