Your post is everything I am and have gone thru. The feeling of bunching in my shoe. The shooting electrical in my feet. The numbness. Cold feet feeling like my only savior. I am now in the swelling faze and cold/hot feeling below the knees. I do have diabetes and take metformin I also take 600mg gabapentin 3xdaily. I know when I have missed a dose. I've had nerve conduction test which showed severe neuropathy. Circulation is good. Cramps started and I began Alpha Lipoid Acid which helps. I am 69 and unsure what my future will look like. It's so sad and miserable.

I share your pain. Mine is not due to diabetes--I think it was caused by taking two days worth of methylprednisolone which triggered some kind of autoimmune reaction in me. Doctors doing rule out which is traumatic in and of itself. No diagnosis yet after a raft of testing. My best advice is to keep moving as stiffness and numbness set in if we plant our bodies on a sofa. I plan to get some kind of physical therapy and/or join a gym with personal training. Acupuncture also might help. I need to halt any progression of this nightmare.
