Happy for your successful surgery!!
Would you be able to share your drs names and where they did your survey.
I have a 5.4 and do not trust the drs that I have spoken with who wanted to do surgery over .5 ago.
Looking for another opinion.
Thanks 😊

There are many major academic medical centers in the US that have done many of these procedures and have excellent thoracic surgeons, Mayo, Mass General, all the major UC related hospitals, etc.

I had mine at 5.2 cm , 5 years ago at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, similar outcome, out in 5 days, back to work in 3 weeks. It all depends on where you’re located and which major center is closest to you (or whether you’re willing to travel, for the right care I would be)

My surgery was at the Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano, Texas. My surgeon was Dr. William Brinkman. I would suggest looking for a hospital where they do a high volume of open heart surgery and of course a surgeon who has done many.
