Photobiomodulation/red light therapy is supposed to affect the mitochondria of the cell making it work more efficiently (?). I have looked into it for Parkinson's unfortunately you have to have strong enough light to reach the cells that need the help. That means you need to go up from red light to near infra red light to infra red light and most of what I have found online is very expensive to get into even the near infrared light area. My husband just made me a red light set up using 670 wavelength which is just below the near infrared light so I don't know if it will help but I'm going to try it for my neuropathy and also on my head for hair loss to see if it can stimulate hair folicles.

Sounds like he built it using something like the Lumimax LED-5RED, operating current 20 mA. He might want to try HSDL-4261 LEDs. Their wavelength is 870 nM and the suggested operating current is 100 mA.
I am now in middle of exploring depth of penetration. Will let you know when I am finished.
