What is your blood thinners medication?

Guess there is a reason you don’t take any new medication like Eliquis Maybe insurance won’t cover but I would talk to your doctor .and discuss a different blood thinner There are many and some have genetic options so they would tend to be less expensive . Not knowing why you still take Warfarin I’m just guessing Best

My doc has offered Eliquis but I have stuck with Coumadin based on cost. On my Plan D Eliquis would cost about 2 grand a year, and Coumadin is basically free. I don’t mind my monthly INR checks since I am retired and have plenty of time.

Apparently, apixaban has not shown that it is better than warfarin for those with artificial (mechanical) heart valves. I was prescribed warfarin straight out of the gate.
I was very gurious as to where I sat in the spectrum of blood thinner medication.
