Anyone taken Evenity (romosozumab) for Osteoporosis?
Has anyone taken Evenity? I understand it’s only been on the market for a little over a year. I’m hoping it will help with my severe osteoporosis. Any information is helpful.

Thank you for sharing your experience. My body feels like a train hit me. I'm fearful to continue. Sounds like you had bad effects in the beginning, how did you handle them? It sounds like you switched to an infusion center for the shots which helped? What did they do differently? Are you getting the shots in your arms or stomach? It's wonderful to hear you're doing well and no doubt your bone has grown after 1 year of shots.
God Bless.
I tried it once. Could not fall asleep for over a month...I don't know what it does to your body to cause insomnia..must be some calcium mediated process.
Did the surgeon require your bone density to be a certain number before the fusion ?
Yes, provider wanted my bone density to be much higher and we accomplished that with Evenity in a Year.!!!
Good to hear. How often did you get the evenity shot ?
Evenity is given 1x a month. Two injections. One in each arm. I,too, had great results.
@gravity3. I have my last shot coming up in July. May I ask your follow-up rx and are you doing bone markers after Evenity on the new rx? My rheumatologist has minimal understanding of the osteo world. Sadly, it's all I have where I live. She fought me on bone markers and now seems a tad open to them but she has no knowledge how to interpret them.
She's also on vacation most of the month of July when I do transition to a follow-up. She'd throw me on Prolia just bc! I'm not looking for that route.
Thanks
I am doing one year of Prolia then transitioning to something else. I haven't had any side effects but I don't want to push my luck. I have a consult with another endocrinologist at Duke who may be more creative. Unfortunately I've been on osteoporosis meds for awhile now... Alendronate, forteo, evenity, Prolia. I'd like to go back on evenity or try tymlos but not sure either is an option. I'll report back when I know more.
TY for responding. I hope your visit to Duke is helpful, best wishes.
Reclast infusion once a year is my follow up.!
