Forteo Question

My doctor in the Endocrinology Clinic has recommended Forteo injections following my last DEXA scan showing increased bone loss after taking Reclast yearly for 2 years.
I would like to know the experience of those who have taken Forteo as I make a decision.
I am 84, have some balance issues due to an end stage arthritic knee (I am also deciding whether to do TKR or Cortisone injections.) Otherwise in pretty good health. Thank you!

I do not know if Forteo caused me to get breast cancer. My yearly mammogram was given 6 months prior to my 12th month of Forteo injections and I was negative for Breast Cancer. I am the baby of 6 children and am only one with breast cancer. Who really knows what causes this nasty disease? Hugs

Do you have constipation from Forteo? That is my only side effect, but one I struggle with. Good luck with increased bone density.

I never had constipation during the 12 months I was injecting myself.
