I am 64 yrs old and have been on the 3 antibiotics (Azithromycin, Ethambutol, Rifampin) daily for 11 months now. I am also doing Arikayce daily for the past 10 months. I have, fortunately, been able to tolerate all these antibiotics so far. Because I have the cavitary form with multiple cavities and nodules, wait and watch was not an option for me. You will find lots of support and information on this group so I am glad you found it. Just hearing about others experiences is helpful. I wish you the best!

Dear mjb24, Thank you so much for your info. Your 3 drug regimen is what the ID doc would start me on. I am so happy for you that you are tolerating the cocktail. I read about Arikayce, but haven't researched it. I am in awe of your stamina! Do you do the airway clearance, and mucus expectorating. How about exercise? Walking, biking, gym ratting lifting weights? So much to learn. Diagnosed April 7 and wasn't able to get in to see the pulmonologist til June 10!
Sigh..... You have 7 months more to go. I wish you an easy time til it is over. Has your hearing or vision been adversely affected? Thank you so very much for your comments.
