It’s such a common occurrence especially as we get older , doctors I think tend to be not worried about it until it reaches 5.0 I have had a 4.2 arotic
root for years l truly don’t believe any doctor has brought it up to me , including cardiologist and electrophysiologist I’m now seeing for heart rhythm issues afib, pvc’s pac’s tachycardia to mention a few so it’s not surprising if you truly lack any heart issues a doctor might not be concern Second the fix for it is open heart surgery So keep an eye on it do some research make sure you find seasoned cardiologist Good health

I agree 100 percent that in general an aneurysm below 5.0 is not something to panic about. And it is a very manageable issue if you work with a cardiologist who specializes in aortic disease and you follow their advice. However, according to Cleveland Clinic (see link) thoracic aortic aneurysms occur in only about .01% of the population - so they are not common and it’s important to be working with specialists who know how dangerous these can be if not monitored regularly.

I’m in a similar situation with no risk factors. If yours is growing, have you evaluated for risk factors- high BP, triglycerides, cholesterol, medications and even type of exercise…. ? Definitely need a cardiologist with experience as well as empathy and compassion as these do create anxiety … Mist I’ve spoken with have been awesome.
