So happy to hear that! I've received a lot of help in this forum, and I'm glad to be able to pay it forward sometimes.

You are too young , good luck
71 soon to be 72.
83... one of 4 different cancers I have had. PSA slowly rising.. doubling time 14-16 months.
Hi my husband is 66 (diagnosed at 64), our brother in law was 63 at diagnosis but it had spread everywhere before he went to the GP so would have been in his 50s initially. We know 4 others in their 50s too. Maybe more men are aware now and get tested earlier. My father was 70 at diagnosis, and had successful radiotherapy.
A friend of ours is now 80, diagnosed at 60, had a prostatectomy (non robotic), and hasn't had any issues since.
I am 71 probably diagnosed 15 years ago RARP this January
Prostrate cancer runs in my family, brother had laser
however, my 96 year old uncle probably also diagnosed in his 50s or 60 had has the radioactive seeds for maybe 30- 40 years, still lives independently
cancer is horrible but it is not always a killer anymore
You have provided a lot of helpful experience here and thank you.
An update of my experience now 3.5 years out. Most all painful urination resolved.
Possible scar tissue remains but not enough to cause problems emptying my bladder now. My new urologist and I agree that all the trouble for first almost 3 years was due to nerve and tissue trauma after the surgery.
I’m almost fully recovered for now. Only a slight bit of stress incontinence occasionally. ED and intimacy issues are on going however and only slight improvement. Any rehab for this was delayed by the painful earlier experience.
Pills don’t work for me although daily 5 mg may improve blood flow some.
Trimix does work but has its own drawbacks. Keep on trying and grateful my cancer is still undetectable.
57, PSA 4.8, recently diagnosed Gleason 7 (4+3) with Cribriform pattern. RARP scheduled for August 1 at Mayo Rochester.
