I know well those feelings you are currently having. Every time I would start on a new medication after unsuccessful experiences with previous AEDs, I would get extremely nervous about the side effects, reading all I could about this medication, which made me even more scared. Together with my husband, neuropsychologist, and neurologist/epileptologist, I realized that by doing this, I was doing myself more harm than helping, influencing myself and getting stressed out with things that had not yet happened (as my yoga teacher would say, I was anticipating belly pains). So, I stopped doing this. Every time I start a new medication, my husband is now the one who researches it and observes the side effects I am having.
