My husband had an allogenic SCT last August at Mayo Rochester. He was 74 years old at time of transplant. and had been diagnosed with high risk MDS in November of 2023.
Like Lori, his care was mostly outpatient. We rented an apartment near the Mayo campus for the hundred days.
Transplant and recovery have not been a walk in the park (no one promised us a rose garden) but we are so grateful for more time together. Especially now that we are at home.
