leewest, the safest time to stop Prolia is after one injection. The amgen doctors say that you have incurred no risk with one injection. You might want to take care with a different bisphosphonate. Risedronate is said produce lower side effects. Alternately, you might ask your physician to keep careful track of your bone markers CTX and P1NP while you transition to ? I'd choose Forteo but your medical history might indicate a better choice.
One might be boniva IV, or by pill depending on the extent of your reaction to alendronate (Fosamax).
Prolia is still widely prescribed. And some have good gains And with and without side effects.
Bone markers will allow you to determine if you are having Prolia rebound before you fracture, which would recommend a bisphosphonate.

Glad to hear that the Amgen docs say less risk if you stop Prolia after one injection. I plan to stop. Too much risk in my opinion. I've had side effects with all these osteo drugs.
