I have had chronic diarrhea for almost five years. Ive been through countless tests and procedures. I take lomotal to slow it down. I went to see my gastrologist and met with his PA
She went through my test results and notice my bile content was very high. She prescribed collector to reduce my bile content.
Im thrilled to say so far, that worked.
No more running to the toilet, or cleaning my soiled clothes.
What a difference! I feel normal now.
Has anyone had chronic diarrhea from their gallbladder? My PCP said he had it prior to his gallbladder removal. He said it was common to have this ailment.
Is that common? If its common, why wasn't it found earlier. Thanks to Jordan, the NP, the diarrhea has stopped! I'm eternally thankful.

Hoping members such as @and others will have some thoughts for you on the chronic diarrhea you experienced for 5 years and how common it may be to have this symptom from a gallbladder issue.
For the benefit of others in this discussion, koneil, I wanted to confirm the medication the nurse practitioner prescribed that was very helpful to reduce your bile content and which helped the diarrhea you were experiencing. Was it cholestyramine (oral route), described on this Mayo Clinic Drugs & Supplements site https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/cholestyramine-oral-route/description/drg-20068562/?
