Anyone know how long it takes to lower CTX after receiving Reclast?

Posted by dna41 @dna41, May 10 1:38pm

I had my first Reclast in May of last year and then a second infusion about 4 months later. In Oct. CTX was 618 and in April of this year it is 424. It is going down but my doctor wants me to have another infusion at this time. I am unsure about this since I don't know how much time it takes to lower CTX further. Does anyone have any experience or information in this regard?

I have not used Reclast, however, I did some reading as it’s a tool in my tool box should I need a bisphosphonate in the future.

This article provided CTX changes over 12 months period after various IV dosing regimens. 5mg wasn’t included although it might have a similar CTX response pattern to that of 4mg zoledronic acid:

Figure 2 is attached, hope the resolution is clear. For serum CTX, a median decreases of 65-83% at one month were observed, which was the lowest point in the 12 months after infusion.

What CTX level does your endo like you to maintain to achieve treatment goal?
