Neuropathy with thickening skin on bottom of feet
I am looking for ways to cope with this and wonder if anyone has experience using Vicks Vaporub

Hi @trfb, I've used Vicks VapoRub on my feet but mostly as a moisturizer but not sure if it helps with thick skin on the bottom of the feet. Mayo Clinic has some information you might find helpful here:
"Why is my skin hard on the bottom of my feet?
Corns and calluses are thick, hardened layers of skin that develop when the skin tries to protect itself against friction or pressure. They often form on feet and toes or hands and fingers. If you're healthy, you don't need treatment for corns and calluses unless they cause pain or you don't like how they look."

@trfb
Have you seen a podiatrist and neurologist for your neuropathy and changes in your feet?
What have you already tried for your neuropathy? I have not heard anything about Vicks for your feet. There are a variety of neuropathy nerve pain topical creams plus supplements (alpha Lipoic acid, acetylene carnitine, magnesium, etc.) that can help.
Have you tried soaking your feet in epsom salt, used cool compresses, and moisturized your feet using Acquaphor?
Thank you. This is from plantar fasciitis. I will check out the Mayo Clinic information.
I have been to a podiatrist and was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. Thank you for your suggestions and I will definitely give them a try as I expect something will work.
I have essential thrombocytopenia. My bone marrow makes too many platelets. One of my symptoms has been numb toes and or feet and or ankles. Also thickening of the skin on the bottom of my feet. It thickens and peels off. It does not hurt, but the skin has little sensation. It is getting better since I started cytoreduction, but still happens to a lesser degree. I treat it with a topical steroid used to treat eczema. That allows the skin to soften so it can be abraded off easier.
