I don’t have it as bad as you did! Thank God!
My GI doctor also has it and is open to me taking anything other than antibiotics! He has had it since twenty years old and takes a prebiotic! He’s very smart and is at Mass. General Hospital and used to work at Deaconess Hospital in Boston! Thank you for your replies!

Hi,
No wonder he still has it, he's likely feeding it not killing it! It is an infection/ bug that must be killed to stop it. It mistyfies me a Dr doesn't understand that, not so smart. I think you should do your own research if that is his recommendation. At least get a second opinion from a Gastologist and stay away from anecdotal evidence. As I said before SIBO is not to be toyed with.
Prebiotics are what you take for probiotics to live on in the gut. If you have IBS severely then you must take the prebiotic for the probiotic to survive on while it becomes estabilished. Other wise you are feeding the so called yest enzymes making the flora in the gut even more unbalanced. Incidentaly onion is a prebiotic and a digestive.
