Stents, Bypass and Aortic Surgery

I had my angiogram a few days ago, and my preventative cardiologist is recommending bypass surgery during which my aortic dilatations (4.6 root and 4.4 ascending) will be repaired. I meet the surgeon in two weeks. I will seek a second opinion before surgery. This all started with a calcium score scan and spiraled from there. It is a little overwhelming as I remain asymptomatic. Has anyone else had bypass and aortic surgery with dilations under 5?

My ascending aorta was at 4.7cm and root at 4.8cm when I had open heart surgery 8 months ago for 3 major procedures and in addition had a Bentall procedure to replace the root, valve and most of the ascending aorta. There is more details in my post above.
