Functional Nausea

Hi I’m not sure if anyone suffers from Functional Nausea. Recently, I had an appt with a gastroenterologist. Her diagnosis is Functional Nausea. I’ve been scoped in the past. I’ve been battling this disorder for a few years. I battle it everyday with a loss of appetite plus heat in my esophagus. Even though, I’m nauseated, I am hungry at the same time. I’ve been on antidepressants in the past. Really, not taking too many meds. I’m on a ppi, blood pressure meds, amitriptyline and lorazepam. No anti nausea meds help, nor ginger and peppermint. I’ve been on bland foods also. I see a therapist. I’ve researched vagus nerve devices might help. My therapist wanted me to discuss this with my pcp. These devices are very expensive. Not sure if Medicare would pay for it. I’ve been working with my therapist to manage my stress, depression and anxiety. Has anyone dealt with Functional Nausea? Has anyone used a vagus nerve device for nausea? If so, did it help? Thank you for any suggestions and info regarding this.

Thank you for your kind words and prayers. I’ve messaged my doctor to get her advice. She wanted me to be on vitamin d drops. Since I have problems taking the capsules. It seems as I increased the dosage I feel more nauseated. Plus she wanted me to try almond milk. Not sure if it’s both of them making me feel worse. Sending prayers and hugs back to you.

Oh my!! I tried some Vitamin D drops a couple of years ago.. and had an anapylactic reaction!! So now I drink Vanilla Plant based Ensure..(get it on Amazon..which has raised my Vitamin D up to normal ..in fact the dr had me taking Vitafusion Vit D with the 2 Ensures a day and it got too high.. IDK if you can drink the Ensure or not.. it doesn't have sucralose in it)..I haven't tried Almond milk.. (I just stay away from milk as much as I can.. goat milk is supposed to be easy on your tummy..I haven't tried that either tho..).. you might be having problems with the Vitamin D..I'm sooo sorry you are feeling worse!! (If that could be possible.. !!) Did you make it to the doctor>> I made it and she said .. yep you were allergic to the Coba;lt in the b12 shots.. (I ended up in ER..) so she was really sorry ..(she's my new PCP) and I asked for alot of blood work..(she wouldn't do it my first visit) ..she's ordered TEN!! I'll go to the hospital lab next week and get them done..Have my new gastro next week.. and Praise GOd ..it's a 5 month wiat.. God parted the Red Sea on this one.. Praying for you to receive your miracles!! That's MIRACLES.. plural!!! Hugs and prayers to you dear friend!!

Thank you for telling me about the Ensure. I’ll have to look into it. Oh my, I’m sorry you ended up in the ER. Yes, my gyne visit was ok. At least bp was good. Take care. Sending you prayers to such a sweet person. Keep me posted.

I'm so glad your appointment good (and you made it!!) And your bp was good!! (Mine was too.. whew!!)I was in ER April 25.. in about 3 years I've had to go almost 20 times.. mainly because of not so good gastros and ERs .. finally found and excellent hospital (45 minutes away.. but oh so worth it!! Ane been hospitalized 3 times for a week each in the past 3 years..colitis constipation and pneumonia.. and one overnight because of blood pressure.. soo anyway I have only been to ER once this year!! And they were awesome!! You take care too.. and I'll keep on praying for you!! And please do keep me posted... I really appreciate you .. you're extra special!! Thanks I’m glad too your appt went well. I’m still sore. Just came back from Doug seeing an ortho Dr. Back in April he dropped part of engine that our son is working on. It was in the garage and Doug didn’t pay attention. On April 23rd we went to an urgent care. They wrapped it and told him to ice it. Last year he broke his baby toe on the same foot. Seems he reinjured it. Now he has to ice it and stay off of it for a couple of days. I was transported by ambulance last April from an urgent care ti the ER. I originally went there because of pelvic pain. The bp was too high. It was scary..I never was in an ambulance. I stayed for a few days for Bp, ultrasound of pelvic and an MRI with sedation for abdomen. This is when they discovered my bladder and uterus problem. During the Christmas holidays we contracted Covid. At first we didn’t know we had it. It was the first time we contracted it. Then was tested. We were together with our daughter and her husband and our son. Our daughter thought we were sick. We didn’t know. After we found out we told her. She was upset with us because both of them got Covid. It’s weird our son lives with us and he didn’t get it. We went to Walmart to purchase the Ensure. I’ll start out slow with them since I’m so sensitive. I woke up with nausea, heat and stress. Keep me posted too. Thank you for your prayers. I’m sending prayers back to you. You are a wonderful person. I appreciate you as well. Hugs and prayers!!!

I’m not sure if you listened to the news. The new pope was elected. First American Pope. He grew up in a town next to the town I grew up in. We moved when I was in sixth grade. He’s part Italian. He has the same birthdate as our son. Just an FYI.

I’m not sure if you listened to the news. The new pope was elected. First American Pope. He grew up in a town next to the town I grew up in. We moved when I was in sixth grade. He’s part Italian. He has the same birthdate as our son. Just an FYI.

Ohhh bless yourall's heart!! I just really don't' like an ambulance ride.. very bumpy!! I'm surprised you could find the Plant based Ensure.. but so glad you did!! I sure do hope it works for you!! I've been hearing about "long term " effects of Covid.. thinking maybe some of our digestive problems might be that. I need to google it they said there are 200 "reconizable " diseases from it.. I never had it.. but had 2 vacs.. so IKD.. was doing real good on nausea and then last night . I ate the wrong thing and back in bed today with the nausea.. wonder what it is..??? I went once for high bp..it was 185 over something.. they kept me over night to "watch me.. and never do that again.. they didn't feed me anything for over 24 hours and it really messed up my stomach!! Gave me nitro once. now I take lisinopril for it.. still fluctuates.. so it's a nausea day here too.. ohhh boy! I'm still praying for you all and standing with you we will be healed in Jesus name!!
