Poor quality imaging and diagnostics due to spinal cord stimulator.
I have had a Boston Scientific spinal cord stimulator since February of 2020. It is the Precision Montage MRI compatible system. I made sure I got one that is MRI compatible because I knew I would need more imaging in my future. Fast forward to present day, I am only receiving about 10-15% pain relief and the MRI technology has progressed. I found out that I am not even getting the most accurate imaging because my system is only compatible for 1.5T MRI's and the newest MRI's are 3T. I am needing this imaging because I am basically bed bound now and have osteophytes one almost every level of my spine, lesions and possible impinged nerve roots. I honestly hate my stimulator now, it's more limiting than anything.
Has anyone had their stimulator removed? How did you get the process started? Did you have any complications?

Would a CT myelogram give you the image quality needed to help with your diagnosis?
I also had a spinal stimulator from Boston Lagistics . They tried 6 programs and it didn't help. I had my hopes up because I talked to people that were pain free. Removing it was easy, just a small incision with no big recovery.
Did you get the leads removed as well? Or just the battery?
That is a good suggestion. I have just sent a long message to my doctor about the possibility of getting a CT myelogram. Thank you!
